SUMMER SOLSTICE DESPACHO CEREMONY

Join us in a celebration of summer and Mother Earth with this sacred ceremony led by shamanic practitioner and medicine healer Denise A. Kinch.

Traditionally, in the Andes a Despacho Ceremony is performed individually or communally after each earth cycle to renew and re-imprint the power of nature on our spiritual body. It connects with the Universe and accomplishes perfect “ayni” (balance), not for us personally but for the well being of our Allyu (community). The Despacho is a gift or giveaway for the organizing principles of the Universe.

The Despacho Ceremony, in its physical beauty, is a journey to the soul of nature, with the assistance of the spirit world. There will be a Fire Ceremony following the Despacho Ceremony

This ceremony is given freely with the wish that a donation may be given to Earth Harmony Sanctuary.

Join Us for our Earth Day Celebration and Medicine Wheel w/ Grandmother Carole

This event welcomes donations to support Grandmother Carole’s upcoming water walk.

"Water has been my teacher, my healer, my comforter,
and is the very source of my life.”

Grandmother Carole is of mixed-blood lineage; her matriarchal lineage is Wabanaki. She was raised to believe she was white until she found the old family Bible that told the truth. At the age of 35 she began to decolonize her ways of thinking and being.

“As a mother of two and grandmother of four, I came to honor the Elders in my life who have chosen to see my heart and share knowledge and lifeways with me along this journey we call life. When Sacred Pipes were passed to me, I learned that their teachings are in fact responsibilities to the People: to the Seven Generations coming up behind me. Bundles are not things, they are responsibilities.

“I have been honored to have many teachers along the Čhaŋkú Lúta (Red Road) and began walking the Wiwáŋyaŋg Wačhípi (Sundance) way of life in 1999.”

Carole is a Pipe Carrier and Bundle Keeper. Carole was taken to the Water while on her Hanblecheya (vision quest). In 2011, she danced her last Sundance and began her journey for the SacredWater. Inspired by the Water Walks of Grandmother Josephine Mandaminand the words and work of Grandmothers Mona Polacca and  Agnus Pilgrim, Carol took up the call of Grandmother Mona Polacca for all women to come back to the Water.

Carole walks to help heal the SacredWater and rebuild the human-to-water connection.

Medicine Wheel for the healing of the Water by healing the disconnection of human beings to their Source the SacredWater. This wheel came forth through dreamtime and many teachings will be shared during the creation of the wheel and as we work with the wheel to help us all reconnect to our Source of Life. The Human Family has become so disconnected that we see SacredWater as "our resource" to be bought and sold ~ like the cattle. By moving away from our understanding that nothing lives without water and that the Water birthed us. We spent our first 9 months within the Water being protected, comforted, warmed by the Source of our life. and when it was time to come into  the physical world ~ the Water Broke and we Followed the Water into this world. The SacredWater still remembers you and nourishes you, comforts you and heals you. Come reconnect with your SOURCE OF LIFE.

Growing Food As If The Earth Matters

You can help mitigate the impacts of climate change while growing vitally rich foods. By using simple and earth-friendly materials and techniques like cardboard mulching, occultation, leaf mould, cover cropping, and urine reclamation you can turn marginal land into a highly-productive garden without fancy tools.

In this workshop veteran grower Ricky Baruc, co-creator of Seeds of Solidarity, will provide low cost, easy to implement, minimal maintenance techniques to sequester carbon and build life in the soil.

Home gardeners, community gardeners and small farmers will leave this day-long workshop with inspiration and practical techniques to transform their gardens.

Here’s a run-down of the workshop schedule:

  • Morning Session: Carbon-Smart Regenerative Growing Principles and Practices:Learn to grow on marginal land using local resources for fertility and never tilling (no machinery necessary).

  • Potluck Lunch

  • Afternoon Session: Designing a Garden as if the Earth Matters: Learn how to design and implement a garden the carbon smart way. Using Earth Harmony Farm and Sanctuary as a template, Erin Stack, manager of the Earth Harmony Farm, and Ricky will discuss how to ensure your garden is multi-functional, aesthetically pleasing, and ecologically integrated. Specific topics may include creating borders, designing habitats, reclaiming overgrown garden areas, and more.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTORS

Monthly Drum Circle w/ Gregorio - 2nd Saturday of the Month - June-Oct - 7pm-8:30pm

Monthly Drum Circle w/ Gregorio - 2nd Saturday of the Month - June-Oct - 7pm-8:30pm

From the beginning when we were soothed by our Mother’s calm heart beat to the rhythmic sounds of waves kissing the sand, Life is rhythm and rhythm is life. Drumming is such a ancient practice that creates awareness of the rhythms that surround us at all times. The hills are truly alive with the sounds of music.

Gregorio has been involved with facilitating drum circles for the past ten years in different settings and functions. The drum circles you will experience at Earth Harmony Sanctuary will be about gathering as a community to drum, sing, dance, and celebrate life. Medicine songs that have been gathered from many languages and traditions will be sung as well as songs written by Gregorio.

No prior drumming experience or musical ability is needed, since we will be playing simple rhythms to focus more on the entrancing and empowering qualities of drumming. Bring any drums or rattles that you may own and some instruments will be provided as well. Come join us at Earth Harmony Sanctuary to sit in circle and rejoice in the company of each other.

This gathering is Rain or Shine.

Suggested donation $15 onsite via check or cash

Didgeridoo Group Class w/ Gregorio - 2nd Saturday of the Month - June-Oct 5:30pm-6:30pm

Didgeridoo Group Class w/ Gregorio - 2nd Saturday of the Month - June-Oct 5:30pm-6:30pm

Gregorio built his first didgeridoo with the help of his dad in the fourth grade, after being mesmerized by his music teacher bringing one into the classroom. He has been performing, teaching, and exploring the use of sound of a medium of healing for the past 10 years. Considered to be the oldest wind instrument that humans have created, the sound is truly grounding and mystical. Besides making a vibration that will make even the bravest German Shepard think, “Daaammmnnn, what is that!!” the didgeridoo is an incredible health practice. Gregorio started playing due to an obsession with deep sounds as a child, but has found from years of playing that the didgeridoo also creates a deep state of mediation. Gregorio says, “ Once circle breathing can be maintained you are able to bypass the monkey mind and reach a deep state of relaxation.” So there is the fact you are learning to make a epic sound, learning how to bypass the monkey mind, but there is another added bonus to playing this instrument when it comes to health.

Research has shown that playing the didgeridoo is one of the best natural remedies and preventative practices for suppressing sleep apnea. The muscles used in playing the didgeridoo strengthen all the muscles of our breathing/speaking organ system. If you want to hold high notes longer or get better sleep at night then playing the didgeridoo will help build up the muscles to help you accomplish those dreams.

Gregorio is an experienced teacher who likes to mix in a lot of humor into his workshops so come learn, laugh, and gather in a community of  like minded people. People will leave the class with the necessary skills to learn this ancient instrument and feel the healing it has to offer them.

Sliding scale of $15-20 to be paid onsite via cash or check.

Earth My Body- Circle Dances from Around the World to Connect us to our Mother Earth

In this workshop, we will do dances that heighten our awareness to the body within and without, our selves and our relationship to the Earth. Circle Dance comes from a tradition of communities that dance together, to celebrate, to mourn, to bless the Earth and her seasons. Dancing in a circle is a unique and special experience of the group moving as one. It is accessible and inclusive as no partner is needed and all are equal in the circle. A greater sense of community and connection is enabled through these timeless and enduring dances. Many experience circle dance as uplifting, absorbing and enjoyable! Beginners are welcome as all dances are taught though some experience of circle dance or folk dance is useful.

Karen Michaelsen has been teaching circle dance in York, England for 20 years. Her love of music, rhythm and movement complements her enjoyment of working with groups to foster an atmosphere that is both thoughtful and fun. She has developed a reputation for a clear and accessible teaching style and is a guest teacher throughout the UK, as well as having taught in France and Croatia. Specializing in dances from Greece, Eastern Europe and the Gypsy/Roma tradition, Karen has studied with several native teachers in Greece, Bulgaria and Albania.

This class offers students of all levels and physical abilities a chance to experience the ancient yogic practice of Sanskrit mantra. As a certified yoga instructor, Reiki master, and student of world-renowned Sanskrit scholar and Vedic priest, Namadeva Acharya (Thomas Ashley-Ferrand), Theresa Thompson and Bharata (Bill) Barry, Brendon is honored to share the powerful self-healing modality of vibratory sound with the Earth Harmony Community. Although the mantras come to us through the Hindu tradition, his approach is non-religious, focusing on the inherent potency of these simple yet ancient formulas.

A list of mantras will be handed out at the beginning of class. Brendon will provide brief descriptions of their effects before leading a short guided meditation allowing the rest of the time for the clearing power of these sacred utterances.

Join us at Earth Harmony Wednesday nights at 7:30pm as we chant with and for one another for the benefit of all beings.

"Love is our birthplace, our final refuge, and our reason for being. IF we recognize that compassion and love are the ultimate destination of our search, the heart of the Universe responds." Namadeva
